Liner Notes

George Thorogood is a force of nature, commanding the stage, or in fact any room he happens to enter, with an intense enthusiasm and larger-than-life persona, and that's even before he picks up a guitar. The slide guitar maestro with the growling voice has been leading his band, the Delaware Destroyers, for over three decades of raunchy blues and good old fashioned rock 'n roll with no signs of slowing down. Their latest release, 2120 South Michigan Ave., is a collection of Thorogood's trademark originals spiked with renditions of songs by the blues and rock pioneers like Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley that inspired him, and named for the address of Chess Records where those songs were first recorded. George and guitarist Jim Suhler took time out of their busy schedule to visit the Vault and tape this one-of-a-kind session.
