Electric guitarist Yngwie J Malmsteen is Swedish born, a pioneering guitarist, composer and bandleader that was a driving force of the heavy metal music scene of the 1980s. He is considered among the most technically skilled guitarists of the genre, and a pioneer of shred guitar. He is a career-long user of the Fender Stratocaster.
