Fronted by Michael Franti, Spearhead's politics-meet-poetry vibe meshes with a soulful delivery of '70s funk-inspired grooves. Releasing their debut album, Home, in 1994, the group emerged with lyrics of social change and leftist attitudes. Since their debut, Spearhead has released a handful of albums in tune with their message-driven lyrics that are viewed as empowering classics on tour. Franti released a solo album, Everyone Deserves Music, in 2003, which features the masterful lyrical line, "you can bomb the world into pieces, but you can't bomb it into peace."
