Paul McCartney

One of the most successful and renowned musicians of all time, Paul McCartney has validated his membership in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame many times over. Throughout his half century long musical career, he has worked on a vast array of projects, shattered sales records, and established his longevity in the world of rock. Dubbed as the "most successful songwriter in the history of popular music," McCartney has sold over 60 gold albums and 100 million singles in the UK itself, and millions more worldwide.

As a teenager, Paul McCartney paired up with John Lennon to make music, and the rest is history. The two grew to become a remarkable songwriting team, and produced hit after hit of innovative and wildly popular songs with bandmates George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The astronomical success of the Beatles rocketed them to a world stage where they experimented with different sounds and themes in their music, creating famous albums including Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles, Abbey Road, and Let it Be, just to name a few. After eight years, the Beatles broke up in 1970, but their beloved songs remain very popular to this day.

McCartney had no plans of slowing down his musical career and fading into history after the Beatles disbanded. He continued to write songs and collaborate with others, including his wife Linda McCartney. The harmonizing couple started playing with other musicians and became the new band Wings. Paul McCartney had continued commercial success over the 10-year period he played with Wings, releasing multiple albums and scoring high positions at the top of UK and international charts until the group's conclusion in 1981.

McCartney's solo career continues to boom as he plays massive stadium concerts to sold out crowds across the world, and he is also involved in art, film, and writing projects.
