Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

Following the dissolution of their high school band called first the Boys Next Door and later the Birthday Party, Nick Cave and Mick Harvey formed Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The band's first version also included Blixa Bargeld, Anita Lane, Barry Adamson and Hugo Race, and this original line-up recorded the group's first album, From Her To Eternity, in 1984. The line-up changed over the years, but Cave's spoken work and dark lyrics remained stand-out markings of the musical styling. In '96, Cave and The Bad Seeds released the Murder Ballads, the straightforward album full of songs about murder. A duet with Kylie Minogue, "Where The Wild Roses Grow," followed and was a mainstream hit. After the release of 2003 album, Nocturama, Bargeld left the band to devote more time to his original band, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Mick Harvey and Cave were back to being the remaining founding members. The multi-talented and -interest Cave also experiments with film and has tried his hand at both acting and screenwriting.
