Liner Notes

A Taddy Porter song does one of a couple things. It might make you pull that mason jar of moonshine over closer to where it's always within something that could resemble arm's length. Nips could be taken when needed, just because they felt right. They felt earned. They felt necessary. It might make you pull your girl over closer. You might be struck with that intoxicating smell of salty flesh and the scent that is only her, the one that becomes unforgettable in a short amount of time. You might feel your eyes rolling back in your head - as happy as you've been. Then again, you might smell her saltiness and those other fragrances and you might detect a spice that you don't like. It could be something else, evidence of her true ways.

This is the kind of girl that Taddy Porter lead singer Andy Brewer sings about in "Evil," a song that boils it all down. Of course, this could lead to a long night and you might be happy to have that by-product of fermented corn mash near. You feel rugged and beat up a little bit in both instances. You're no fool. You've just been treated like one and you're lit up. You're looking to get even more lit up, as time and volume allow. Brewer and the rest of this band, from Stillwater, Oklahoma, take us into those crunchy stories that, while trying and frustrating at times, we would never want to lose. Even those evil women have their moments, some of which are slightly evil.
