When you get into the good stuff, it overtakes you. It flips you upside down and knocks you out. It stretches your smiling mouth and it brightens your dim eyes. It makes you wonder what you've been doing all this time and why you did it for so long, when there was this other thing out there for taking. It makes you wonder why you couldn't see it all along. It's just that it takes time to get to - as if following the trail of some mythical creature that's only been seen in grainy photographs, or heard about from the bony-fingered old-timers.

If you can't believe what they have to say about that wily misadventure that is love in typical fashion, then you can't trust a thing that they say. Of course, they're easier to dismiss because there's a common thought that love was different then and they couldn't possibly relate. It's not the love that you're used to going after. Shit's a lot more complicated these days than it ever was, or so you try to tell yourself. What would they know about the love that you're trying to hunt and pin down? Zilch.

But, when you hear a guy like the incredible Mikhael Paskalev sing about love, you can sense the timelessness in the way he considers it to work. You can hear, in his words, the exact ways that you can find yourself swept away by it. The windows have been swung completely open, the blinds have been rolled up to the top and the breeze is cruising through, uninterrupted. There's a light at the end of the tunnel and it's beckoned you. It's that pot of gold that you always thought was a load of shit, sitting there at the end of the rainbow, glistening like a crystal, like an explosion.

You've been drawn to it and you're quite sure that you don't know how you got there, but there's no need to question any of it any longer. You feel good about what's ahead. You believe that this young man has been infected with pure joy, with that finder's glee. It's that elation that can sink its beautiful claws into you and make you both want to follow it wherever it leads and unable to do anything otherwise.

Paskalev finds the concept of love to be exhilarating and he expresses it spectacularly in these dynamic pop songs. He mends broken smiles and tainted hearts. He makes these hot winds feel cool and prospective. He puts it all in the air - the light touches and promises of better days
