Recorded in her home base of London, this astonishing recording of Joan Armatrading dates back to the time when she had finally won over both critics and the record-buying masses. This show was recorded after the release of her second album, Show Some Emotion, and just prior to the recording of her third, To the Limit.

By this point, Armatrading was a confident and highly expressive singer/songwriter who could comfortably blend acoustic and electric instruments in a distinctly pop oriented, folk-rock style. She was fronting a great band which included guitarist Jerry Donahue from Fairport Convention and David Kemper, who has remained an acclaimed studio and touring drummer.

Her biggest radio hit, "Show Some Emotion," is not among the handful of tracks featured here; however a great version of "Tall In The Saddle" appears nearly 18-months before it was recorded for 1979's Steppin' Out album.
