Liner Notes

There always seem to be good reasons for walking around without a heart, or one so damaged that it's essentially useless. We can recall what led us to a hollow stroll, a shuffle and slide, with the soles of our shoes rubbing hard against the concrete. The states that are only barely comprehensive are the ones that get us to a stooped posture, with dulled emotions and a clouded disposition. We can get really ruffled and disoriented when we feel that our arms and legs have become numb and more transparent and less sturdy than they should be. We find that time has gone missing and took much of our gained assets with it. We leave skin in the game, always.

Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance of the band Jamestown Revival create horizons where it's hard to make out if the people they're writing about are coming or going. They often feature multiple missing parts and phantom limbs. Their silhouettes have the form you see when you're squinting, when you're blacking out. They take on the roles of drifters and eternal longers. They will long for themselves, for others, for time to rewind, deep into their nights and they will experience many instances where the spirits are exhaling against the backs of their necks.
