Retro rocker and fashion icon, Lenny Kravitz is just as likely to be spotted at a Versace show as at a rock concert. The son of an actress, Kravitz's youth found him in the company of Miles Davis and Duke Ellington, and with the inspiration of such muses he went on to pursue a career in rock and roll. Evoking idols like Prince, Led Zeppelin and Bob Marley, his albums span a number of genres including funk, soul and psychedelic rock. In addition to plain old outstanding record sales, Lenny Kravitz found huge success when he signed with multi-media giant Virgin and released the biggest hit of his career, "Fly Away." The song also was conveniently picked up in Virgin Airlines' commercials.
