Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane joined Grootna in 1972 in between his less-than-chummy partings from Airplane and Jorma Kaukenon's Hot Tuna and his association with Jefferson Starship. Grootna morphed into Bodacious DF which featured Marty on lead vocals and released a self-named album in '73.
