Eric Clapton once described Buddy Guy as the best guitar player alive. In fact, it was through the support of his many famous admirers that Guy came to the attention of rock audiences. Guy began playing the guitar as a teenager. He went to Chicago, the urban capital of the electric blues, and was on the verge of starving when Otis Rush allowed him to sit in on a performance. His fierce style eventually earned him a record contract. He toured constantly, appearing at clubs and festivals around the world.
