With red, white and blue dripping from their title, its hard to believe this folk-rock delight was formed in the United Kingdom. The London-born America made it big in the 1970s with their California-folk appeal and hits like "A Horse With No Name" and "Ventura Highway." The wistful rockers saw most of their success in the '70s, winning a Grammy for Best New Artist in '72. America had a couple of hits in the '80s and continue recording and touring today; with a 2007 release including guest appearances by Ryan Adams, Nada Surf, and others who were influenced by America's sound.
