The 25th installment in the limited-run Daytrotter Presents vinyl series, this 180-gram, split 12-inch vinyl features a very special pairing of two of the most underrated bands of the 90s and 2000s, Jars of Clay and Superdrag. Jars of Clay make records filled with people who have been wrecked and then have been saved. They've been decimated and still found some rays of sunshine, even after the loneliness had eaten into them like acid. Theirs are the brutally human stories that are eagerly told at recovery meetings. They might not have all of the action that some of the conventional stories addicts might tell, but these are coming from the regular gents and gentle ladies who weren't addicted to anything in any serious way, but were absolutely consumed by life as it unraveled - from the good to the bad and back. There was ice and there was a thaw. There were shouts and dirty little secrets and then there were tears and on most lucky days - forgiveness and understanding. Superdrag and lead singer John Davis have done their best over the years to delve into all of the caverns that make up the dark clouds, touring the disappointment and becoming something like stronger people when the distorted guitar rings subsided enough that you could hear the long drags of their cigarettes getting sucked into their heaving lungs and the beer bottles clinking their lonely song. Davis has never just lied there and let his life steam across him like a determined iron. He kicked and he screamed, letting it gnaw on him a bit before shaking vigorously and then lending words to the situations. As hopeless and desperate as anything - the future, the now - got, Davis smoked out what he needed to smoke out in order to keep from losing his mind. Get these while you can. Quantities will be limited. Thanks for the support and enjoy!
