About H.P. Lovecraft
Named after American horror/fiction writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937), H.P. Lovecraft was a psychedelic group of the late 1960s. The band released two albums, one in '67 and another in '68, and two additional albums were released under the name Lovecraft. Their sound has been called everything from hazy "gothic psychedelic" rock to garage folk and was certainly imaginative. Songs like "At the Mountains of Madness," "White Ship" and "Keeper of the Keys" all contain references to author Lovecraft's short stories. Truly a product of their era, H.P. Lovecraft makes perfect sense for those seeking an LSD flashback to simpler times and exotic musical displays.
