Steve Miller Band Poster

Steve Miller Band Poster
50's Rock & Roll revivalists Sha-Na-Na appeared with the Steve Miller band. Singer's lettering looked legible but, upon examination, the reader had to do some deciphering of the hieroglyphic-style forms.
The poster/ticket set contains a second printing poster and 3 first printing tickets.
Print Variations
The 1st printing poster is on 9 to 9.5 point stock that matches the postcard. It has several small blue spots in the outer white top margin just to the right of the left outer black border. It does not have the small white nick in the "V" in "Steve" described in the 2nd printing. It measures 14" x 22" and was printed before the concert.
The 2nd printing is on slightly thicker 10 to 10.5 point stock. It does not have the blue spots described under the 1st printing. It has a small white nick on the left side of the left leg of the "V" in "Steve". It also measures 14" x 22" but was printed after the concert on 9/13/1977 in a 3,000 copy run.
About David Singer
During his Fillmore era, from 1969-1971, Singer created more posters for Graham than any other artist. Singer's posters are notable for his use of collage, incorporating thousands of images clipped from magazines spanning several decades. He developed a format that included a stunning variety of lettering styles, applying them in close relation to the theme or subject of a poster.
