Richard Hongisto, the recently-elected San Francisco sheriff, was popular with young Bay Area liberals in early 1972 for his inclusion of gays and women in his support groups and his apparent unwillingness to make the lives of the downtrodden more difficult. Faux police artist sketches of Crosby and Nash reinforced the Jail House Rock theme.

Our vintage concert handbills feature performances from the Fillmore, Fillmore East, Winterland, the Avalon Ballroom and more.
