It's just as easy to make a weak man sound strong as it is to make a strong man sound and feel week. Nick Mulvey's delicate and insightful songs of the hard-knocked psyches of men in their various states of dishevelment are about as captivating as they come. They are some of the darkest daydreams we've ever heard, but they're daydreams nonetheless. They are consistently pushing their plots to fainter and fainter trails, where everything feels a bit loosened and off, as if we were sailing away on some polluted, make-believe air.
